I once told a good friend of mine that if she needed assistance or tips for life insurance, I was here to help. I always mentioned she needed life insurance, but she held it off time after time. She knew she needed it. She was fully aware that if anything should happen to her, her family would not be able to pay the mortgage payments. She knew how important it was, but she just procrastinated into doing something about it. Sadly, my friend passed away. Her family is in turmoil as we speak. I don’t tell you this to gain sympathy support. I’m telling you this because it is a fact…You can make sure your family is protected, even in the event of your death.
I understand it is hard for people to think about their own death. Nonetheless, the reality is that we are all going to pass at sometime or another. Wouldn’t you feel better knowing that you will still be able to take care of your family even after your death?
Here are some tips for life insurance to consider:
Cost- Don’t be fooled by cheap premiums. I’m not saying getting an inexpensive premium is not possible, but don’t always be lured by the cheapest premium. You need to look at policy coverage and extras within the cover to make sure you are getting the best value for your money. If a premium is too costly for your budget, it is much better to get at least one policy rather than nothing at all. You can always then review and add to it later.
Read the small print- There are many life insurance scams. Understanding the small print is crucial. Make sure you sit down with a licensed life insurance agent so that you can make sure you understand your policy in detail.
Full disclosure is crucial- Make sure that the answers you give when applying are correct and include all relevant personal information and medical history.
